Ash

Canadian Ash wood is known for its distinctive grain pattern, which ranges from straight to wavy. When painted, this wood will show a subtle grain pattern in the texture of the finish. When stained, this wood will take up the stain in the grain beautifully - it’s a shop favourite!

Maple

Canadian Maple is a hard wood known for its durability. When painted, this wood will give you a smooth finish. When stained, this wood will show a soft, minimal grain pattern.

Painted Finishes

Our standard high quality paint finish provides a beautiful opaque (solid) coverage. Finished with a matte gloss lacquer clear coat for added durability.

Our Vintage paint finish is a two-step finish which is achieved by staining the chair in a beautiful wood tone with a painted finish on top. The painted finish is then painstakingly rubbed off on the areas of the chair that would see high use over time such as the seat, arms and legs to reveal the wood tone underneath to create the “vintage” aged look that we often see on antique pieces.

Stained Finishes

Our custom stain finishes provide a translucent colour that deeply penetrate and enhance the natural grain of the wood. Finished with a matte gloss clear coat for added durability.

Seagrass Seat

Our seagrass seats are beautifully handcrafted from strands of seagrass twisted into rope for weaving. The rope is skillfully woven together by hand in various patterns around the frame to create a naturally supportive surface with some give for comfort. The seagrass seats will have a slightly green hue when newly woven but turn a beautiful muted tan tone as it ages. Seagrass is an organic material with naturally occurring variations in tone, making each piece unique.

Babiche Seat

Our babiche (natural rawhide) seats are handcrafted by soaking long rawhide strips until soft and weaving them around the frame in a beautiful pattern. The rawhide shrinks as it dries and hardens to create a very durable, supportive and beautiful surface.

Please note, all stained finishes (Honey, Amber, and Stout) will feature a stained finish on the seats and rails for babiche seats.
